BedBug Treatment Preparation Sheet
For Clients of SURREY PEST CONTROL
Before the Technician Arrives
Please complete all the following items to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment and improve the chances of full elimination.
General Instructions
- Remove pets, birds from the unit during treatment and for at least 4–6 hours after the technician leaves. If there are fish tanks, cover them and turn off filtration/air systems.
- Deep-clean and de-clutter the treated rooms: fewer hiding places = better results.
- Avoid moving large furniture items.
Bedroom & Bedding
- Strip all bedding: sheets, pillows, comforters, bed skirts, etc. Wash in hot water and dry on high heat.
- Move bed and furniture at least 6–12 inches away from the wall to allow access to the baseboard and wall junctions.
- Empty all drawers/night-stands. Clothes, linens and other items must be bagged or laundered.
Closets, Furniture & Floor Areas
- Empty closet shelves and floor space of items such as boxes, shoes, bags. Bag items for laundering or storage as instructed.
- Remove or lift sofas/chairs away from walls; vacuum thoroughly around furniture, baseboards and flooring cracks. Dispose of vacuum bag/contents in sealed plastic bag.
- Remove electrical switch plates/outlet covers if directed, or ensure they are exposed for treatment.
Laundry & Bags
- All garments, linens, drapes, stuffed toys must either be washed on hot/high heat or sealed in clear plastic bags until after final treatment.
- Do not reuse bags used to transport potentially infested items for clean laundry.
Additional Items & Precautions
- Remove or cover pets, plants, and food items from the area being treated. Pestcheck Services Limited
- If you have fish tanks: cover the tank, turn off aeration/filtration during treatment as instructed.
- Be sure to notify technician if you have vulnerable occupants (infants, pregnant persons, asthma/allergy) so special precautions can be taken.
